Merging Technical, Interpersonal, and Financial Expertise to Drive Complex Infrastructure Projects & Investment Plans

Rita is an Electrical Engineer with 18+ years of experience overseeing major infrastructure projects in Portugal, notably two investment plans approved by the government for its energy distribution grid.

Porto Business School’s Executive MBA has taught her how to think more strategically, lead teams using modern techniques, and understand projects from a financial perspective that complements her existing technical background.
After that , she aspires to rise to occasion in a leadership role where she can bridge knowledge & communication gaps between technical and business teams, leveraging her 360-degree understanding of business activities.

At E-REDES, she conducted technical-economic studies and cost-benefit analyses, requiring that she mobilize 40+ cross-departmental team members to assemble the investment plan’s proposal. Using strong interpersonal & creative problem-solving skills, she navigates these high-profile projects while strengthening alliances between teams and with external partners.
Earlier in her career, she had the opportunity to study at MIT in Boston, USA, where she gained new knowledge of energy efficiency while immersed in a rigorous and foreign academic environment that taught her how to advocate for her ideas.

Now, she doesn’t hesitate to share her vision and mentors’ other women in STEM to do the same. In her next role, she would like to continue empowering other women while continuing to grow herself.
