Miguel is a customer-centric Logistics & Operations Lead with 15+ years of experience optimizing costs, driving efficiencies, and building high-peforming teams for luxury hospitality brands. He began his career at London’s top hotels, such as Mandarin Oriental and Pestana Chelsea Bridge, where he rapidly grew into senior roles for his ability to thrive under pressure, seize cost-saving opportunities, and sustain brand prestige by training personell to provie impeccable service to guests.

Currently, he is enrolled in Porto Business School’s Digital MBA and he tunes into it from his current home inthe Canary Islands. He moved to Tenerife to operate four hotels owned by ten different asset & management firms. This role required balancing the needs of various stakeholders to ensure profitability, meticulous cost control, and forecast demand to extend capabilities as required. Miguel served as the legal representative of the ten firms and advocated for their interests while running the hotels as smoothly as possible. The Digital MBA equipped Miguel with a 360-degree understanding of how successful, fast-growing businesses operate to complement his existing finance background. He uses these skills in his current role as the Regional Financial Controller @canary islands of the electronic retailer Worten, a subsidiary of Sonae, where he performs the financial analyses behind new store openings.

Upon completing the MBA, his goal is to ascend into upper-level management roles in the hospitality sector, where he can significantly impact a hotel chain’s finances, expansion, team building, and reputation enhancement. He has a proven history of positioning hotels as lucrative assets and would be an invaluable resource for his next project.
